Pioneer, the original company, commenced operation in January 1922 at 1050 Hamilton Street in Vancouver as a division of Willson Stationery Co. Ltd.

In 1954 the company was purchased by H.R. MacMillan and incorporated as Pioneer Envelopes Ltd., and was moved to 835 Beatty Street.

Two years later, as a result of diversification, Pioneer changed its name to a division of B.C. leather Ltd. During this period the company sold raw leather to shoe repair shops, shoes, work boots and running shoes, as well as manufacturing and marketing a complete line of golf clubs under the name Golfcraft Canada, while of course all the time still selling - Envelopes.

In August of 1962, the company reduced operations solely to the expertise of Envelope Manufacturing as Pioneer Envelopes Ltd.

In April 1976, Belkin Paper Inc. purchased the company and it became a division of Keycorp Industries Ltd., located in its present facility, at 4771 Vanguard Road, Richmond.

Pioneer Envelopes eventually became a wholly owned division of Belkin Inc., a family owned conglomerate, which was purchased by Paperboard Industries in 1987, one of Canada's Major Corporations.

Paperboard was mainly involved in the production of recycled paper, packaging products and milk carton production. Envelope manufacturing requires a type of paper, which was not one of their products, and consequently the Envelope division did not fall into the corporation's future plans.

On September 1, 1988 Pioneer Envelopes was sold to the present owner, Rasheem Investments Ltd. and the name was again reverted to Pioneer Envelopes Ltd.

In the late 1980's Pioneer introduced Recycleopes ®. Merely our little contribution to help clean up the world.
